About Us

We are charity foundation with 11 years experience

Centre for Child Development and Research is a local Non-Governmental Organization registered under the Trustees Incorporation Act in 2013 with registration number TR/INC:6007 and a member of CONGOMA and NGORA. CCDR was established in 2013 with the belief that children and youths are the seed of society and that their well-being is essential for sustainable development of citizenry.


CCDR operates under a Board of Trustees with high standing members in the society and drawn from a variety of disciplines. The Board has seven (7) members elected in their capacity to different responsibilities

CCDR envisions a Malawi where children and families thrive and have the opportunity to grow and develop to their full potential in a caring, supportive and protective environment full of natural and biological resources that facilitates a well-rounded development of citizenry essential for sustainable development.

Our Mission

CCDR works with families, communities, and other partners to create a caring, protective, and supportive environment for children, youth and families through research, protection of and conservation of environment, provision of education, water, health, STEM and practising agribusiness for sustainable socio-economic progress.

What we do

We have selected the following problems

LIVELIHOODS PROGRAMS

Socio economic empowerment • Provide livestock to community members targeting women; Example include Goats pass on project. • Food security through teaching communities on modern farming using Climate smart Agriculture technics. • Honey production; provide training, guidance/mentorship and materials for honey production. • Promotion of Village savings Loans as one way of income generating activity.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAMS

Biodiversity Conservation. • Community Capacity and Capability building by training various community based organizations on environmental management. • Restoration of forest reserves through tree planting and caring of natural regeneration.

COMMUNITY DRIVEN AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

• Established partnership with ward councillors, Area Development Committees, Village Development Committees and community based Organizations through District Councils. • Capacity building of ADCs, VDCs and CBOs to develop and execute their strategic plans. • Work in liaison with the government structures to address community demands
